What is laser freckle treatment?

Freckles (ephelides) are small concentrations of melanin in the upper skin layer, most common in fair skin on the cheeks, nose, forehead, shoulders and décolleté. Genetics decide whether they appear; UV light makes them more numerous and darker.
How does laser remove freckles?
Pigment lasers deliver very short pulses of energy to the melanin, which breaks into tiny particles, darkens, crusts and sheds with the skin’s natural renewal over 1–2 weeks. Creams can limit darkening but cannot target existing pigment like a laser.
How many sessions?
For suitable candidates we plan one session of about an hour covering the whole area. Results depend on density, pigment depth, skin type and sun protection afterwards. Very dense freckles may need a touch-up — we discuss this beforehand.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first; you may feel brief prickling. Most clients tolerate it well.
Is it permanent?
Treated pigment does not return, but new freckles can appear with unprotected sun. Daily SPF 50 protects the result.

Recovery
Recovery timeline
- First 24–48 hours
Mild redness and warmth
Mild redness and darker-looking spots are normal; a cool compress helps.
- Days 2–7
Darkening and fine crusts
Spots darken and turn into fine, coffee-ground-like crusts — an expected part of the process.
- Days 7–14
Crusts shed
Crusts fall off, revealing lighter skin. Sun protection is most critical now.
- Weeks 4–6
Result and check-up
Tone settles; we review the result together at your check-up.
Aftercare
- 1Avoid direct sun for 2 weeks; wear a wide-brimmed hat outdoors.
- 2Use broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily and reapply every 2–3 hours outdoors.
- 3Do not pick or scratch crusts; let them shed naturally.
- 4Avoid sauna, steam room, sunbeds, intense exercise and pools for a week.
- 5Pause peels, acids and retinol unless recommended.
- 6Keep skin cleansed gently and moisturised.
- 7Keep your check-up so we can review the result together.

What our clients say
Frequently Asked Questions
Freckle Treatment – FAQ
How much does laser freckle removal cost?
It depends on the area, density and your plan; on average 100,000–150,000 TRY excl. VAT. We confirm your exact price at the assessment.
Can laser remove freckles completely?
Laser visibly reduces freckles; how much depends on density, depth and skin type. We share a realistic expectation at your assessment.
How many sessions are needed?
One session of about an hour for suitable candidates; very dense freckles may need a touch-up.
Is there a definitive solution for freckles?
Pigment laser is the most targeted method for existing freckles; daily sun protection is essential to keep the result.
How do freckles on the face fade?
Creams limit darkening but do not remove pigment; laser is the most effective way. Home remedies like lemon can irritate the skin.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream makes it comfortable; mild prickling or warmth is possible.
Will it leave marks?
With correct settings and aftercare no marks are expected; picking crusts or sun exposure can cause temporary discolouration.
When can I return to normal life?
Most return to work the next day; darkened spots and fine crusts last 7–14 days.
Can it be done in summer?
Autumn and winter are ideal; with strict sun protection it can be planned year-round, but not right before a holiday or on tanned skin.
Can it be done during pregnancy?
Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding; we plan it for afterwards.
